I’ve been wanting to share with you my favorite bakeries and pastry shops in Florence and what better time to do it than February, when the beloved carnival dolci reign supreme in every forno and pasticceria?

At carnival season calories don't count. You’re going to walk a lot anyway, right? So, let’s talk about Florence’s dolci of the season and then I’ll give you the low down on my favorite bakeries and pastry shops from the Oltrarno to the heart of the historic center and out to Sant’ Ambrogio, one of my favorite neighborhoods, where I lived back in 2004.
