This year I was treated to something very special: The St Regis in Venice at Christmas. The only other time in my entire life I’ve spent time in high-end hotels was when I lived in Qatar. There, ultra fancy hotels were the main places to go for dancing, for bars, for restaurants, for socializing. But in Italy, luxury hotels are way out of my reach.
