Three times a month, a licensed Florence guide and 35-year Italy veteran helps you trade hit-and-run tourism for the kind of deep, unhurried Italy experience that changes how you see the world.
That promise comes from thirty-five years of Italy, starting at 19 with a backpack and ten dollars a day in the 1980s.
By the next year I was living there, learning the language. By the 1990s I was leading teenagers on summer abroad trips to Italy.
After creating my own wedding in Italy in 1998, I started a business organizing weddings in Italy for foreigners. Although I no longer do weddings, I’ve continued since 1998 to plan trips in Italy for clients.
When I was forty, I went back to uni to get a master’s in Florentine Renaissance history (which were among the best years of my life!) and soon after, I walked Italy’s pilgrimage route solo. This is great way to get off the beaten path in today’s world of over-tourism. Check out my memoir about it here.
In 2017, I moved to Italy for the third time. (I had two prior iterations living in Italy). And, I made it through (and passed) the challenging (understatement 😅) guide course, and I'm now a licensed guide to Florence’s museums.
Recently I went through a very interesting process buying an apartment in Florence and spending a few years remodeling it and boy, did I learn a lot. 😉
If you've feel like the Italy you love is disappearing behind viral TikTok queues, this is for you.
